Satish Kaushik wanted to make Tere Naam 2 with Salman Khan, reveals Karan Razdan – Exclusive – Times of India

One of late Satish Kaushik’s iconic films was Tere Naam with Salman Khan. The 2003 film was also praised for it’s soundtrack by Himesh Reshammiya, but it was most known for Salman’s iconic character of Radhe. It was all envisioned and directed by Satish Kaushik and the two men, never stopped respecting each other since then.

Such was the camaraderie between Kaushik and Salman that they always spoke highly about each other. Salman visited Kaushik’s residence yesterday to pay his last respects. And onlookers revealed that after arrival, Salman met Kaushik’s family and then quietly stepped out of their apartment and waited patiently in a corner, looking very emotional.

When ETimes spoke to Satish Kaushik’s good friend actor-filmmaker Karan Razdan, he revealed, “In his heart, Satish always wanted to make Tere Naam 2 with Salman Khan. He didn’t talk much about it but he used to praise Salman a lot, because he had helped Satish a lot even during the making of Kaagaz.”

Not just that, Kaushik was also planning a film with his Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan co-star Amitabh Bachchan, too. Razdan revealed, “I think he was planning a film with Amitabh Bachchan, at least that is what was there in his head. He was planning a film with Neena Gupta, which later he scrapped because of the political atmosphere. He told me that he was planning something big with Amitji. I don’t know what stage it had reached though.”

ETimes wondered if Satish Kaushik, a prolific writer-director had started work on the project. Razdan said, “He spoke a bit about Amitji’s film to me in the past few months. But I could not ask him at what stage his plan had reached.”
