Woman Forgets To Mute Mic While Eating Chips In Meeting, Asks “Am I In Trouble?”

Working from home has opened up new avenues for people to participate in work discussions from all over the world. There is no need to be physically present in a workspace to attend a meeting as virtual meetings have become the norm. However, these meetings come with their own sets of challenges and setbacks which often result in much confusion and hilarity! Recently, a viral tweet chronicled this very dilemma of being in a virtual meeting when hunger pangs strike. A woman named Vandana Jain narrated how she forgot to mute her mic while eating chips – and what happened after that. Take a look:

The tweet was shared by user Vandana Jain on her official handle @VandanaJain_. She shared two clicks of a meeting that she was in, during which she was eating chips as she was feeling hungry. Jain did not realise that she was not on mute and everyone could hear her munching and crunching on the snack. Later, her manager messaged on the chat saying, “Can you please mute your mic? The sound of you eating chips is too loud.” The woman asked her Twitter followers, “I was in a meeting when my manager texted me this… Am I in trouble?”
The woman’s hilarious anecdote about forgetting to mute her mic left the internet in splits. It received over 507k views and 6.8k likes. A number of users left their thoughts in the comments section as well. “If this takes off, Lays should pay you for it,” said one user. “This would work as a great ad for lays gourmet though,” agreed another one. Several also felt that the manager was quite polite to point it out separately and without offending. “He is actually polite, my manager would have said ‘learn some manners while attending the meeting’,” commented one user. “Manager is surely not enjoying your eating ASMR,” said another one.
