Will KGF star Yash replace Hrithik Roshan as Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan? Here’s what we know – Times of India

Bawaal filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has been wanting to bring Ramayan on the silver screens. It was earlier reported that the producers were in talks with Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor to play Raavan and Ram in the film. However turns out Hrithik has turned down the offer as he does not wish to play another negative role after Vikram Vedha.
Reports suggest Notesh Tiwari and producer Madhu Mantena have now turned to KGF star Yash for the role. Yash has been reading scripts and has narrowed down to 4-5 potential and one of them is Ramayan, reports Pinkvilla.

The producer-director duo had announced their plans of adapting the Indian epic Ramayan for the big screen for the global audience in 2019. It has been touted to be one of the most ambitious projects of Indian cinema. While Ranbir has shown interest in the project, he is yet to sign the dotted line.
If the casting of the film comes through, Ramayan will go on on floors by summer this year, the report further stated.

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is currently shooting his film Bawaal with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. Speaking about collaborating with Tiwari, Janhvi had told PTI, “Nitesh sir has really spoiled me. Working with him was such a dream. He has such clarity and has got the world’s wisdom to offer. He is the most dignified man I have ever met. I was in awe of him as a director and as a person. And when a director like him believes in me to cast me in his film and when I perform for him, and he says the take is good. The belief made me believe in myself a lot more.”
