But why was the cricket trophy placed in front of a historic monument? 

Basically, the ICC World Cup trophy will travel to 18 countries marking the commencement of the cricket tournament.  The 2023 edition of the trophy tour will be the first full-fledged tour since 2019.  The Trophy Tour is conducted to give one million fans the chance to connect with the silverware. The tour aims to recreate the sense of occasion and a cardinal-like atmosphere. 

The trophy reached the Taj Mahal, Agra on August 16. The initial picture was shared by ICC with the caption “50 days to go for #CWC23.” This picture captivated millions of cricket fans and people started sharing the picture widely. 

The trophy tour was launched with a bang. The trophy embarked on a journey to the stratosphere and reached a staggering height of 120,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. The breathtaking visuals of the World Cup Trophy were captured by 4k cameras. 

This year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be conducted in India from October 5. The Indian team will start its World Cup campaign with a match against Australia that will be played in Chennai on 8 October.
