Wayne Carey loses another job after being dropped by Triple M after white powder casino scandal

Footy legend Wayne Carey arrives at speaking engagement and is promptly told to LEAVE because the audience didn’t want him there – as he loses another job after his white powder casino scandal

  • Carey was told he was unwanted at grand final luncheon in Melbourne on Friday
  • Audience members told organisers they had problems with him being there
  • Footy great lost his job with Triple M Radio just days before latest blow

Wayne Carey has had a speaking engagement at a function in Melbourne cancelled at the last minute when members of the audience expressed their concerns about the AFL great to organisers.

It’s the latest blow to the footy legend after he lost his job with Triple M radio earlier this week on the back of being barred from Perth’s Crown Casino when a bag of white powder fell out of his pocket while he was gambling.

Carey was due to speak at the grand final lunch for the St Kevin’s Old Boys Football Club at the Glenferrie Hotel on Friday but found out he was unwanted shortly after arriving.

The promotional material for the lunch didn’t promote Carey by name and his attendance wasn’t widely known to the 200-odd guests, according to the Herald Sun.

St Kevin’s took the step when audience members told organisers they had problems with Carey making a speech, according to club president Patrick Mount.

‘There was concern in the room about Wayne being there, which we listened to, and a decision was made to remove him from speaking at the event,’ Mount said.

‘Wayne then left. He acted in an extremely professional and courteous manner the entire time.’
