Suffice it to say that Kylie Jenner’s current makeup routine is a far cry from her signature 2018 glam, which she detailed for her first installment of Vogue beauty secrets. To be fair, the lip lining, baking, and face-sculpting techniques that she swore by were of their time—brought to the masses, in part, by the beauty mogul. “I’ve changed my look a lot—I think that I’m into more natural skin,” she says. “I wear a lot less, but I’ve accomplished the same snatched look.” Here, the 25-year-old pulls back the curtain on her routine for the second time—spilling a few secrets in the process. “I’m back; I missed you Vogue!”
“Classic Kylie” glam always begins with a lip scrub, especially ahead of a bold or nude matte lip. To start, she clips her hair back and unveils a foundation sample—hinting at, perhaps, a forthcoming Kylie Cosmetics launch. Jenner mixes the formula with a pump of moisturizer before blending it in with her fingers. “I do feel like now that I’m using my hands more, it is, I don’t know, an intimate experience. My foundation just looks different.” She blends concealer with her fingers, too, applied to the under-eye and nose areas. Next, her bronzer, a repurposed Nudestix foundation stick, is buffed in with a brush to her cheekbones, nose, and temples. “I feel like the way that I contour now is definitely less harsh,” she says. Next, two shades of the Kylie Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Glow Balm provide a vibrant flush of rosy color to her cheeks. “They’re hydrating too, so it really just looks so pretty,” Jenner remarks moments before dotting the blush onto her lips.
With her complexion enhanced, it’s time to set her face in mattifying fashion with Givenchy loose powder and Charlotte Tilbury’s pressed pigments. Now onto eyes, Jenner reveals yet another secret—her makeup line’s Matte Liquid Eyeshadow, which drops today. “A little goes a long way, and they don’t dry too fast,” says the mom of two, blending the cream formula outwards, followed by a wash of neutral powder shadows. Then, she draws on tiny winged liner to accentuate her light brown gaze. After subtly overlining her lips, it’s time for brows. Nowadays, she’s partial to a naturally bushy shape, groomed into place with Anastasia Beverly Hills’s pencil and Kosas’s clear gel. The finale? Jenner coats her lashes with the new Kylie Cosmetics mascara. “I wanted something to appeal to everyone,” she says of the formula. And just like that, her updated Kylie look is complete with a touch of highlighter and a final dab of blush. “I’m sure I’ll see you guys again in a few years when my look changes again,” she bids with a kiss. “I’ll see you guys soon.”
