David Onama blew the doors off of the UFC APEX with a KO of Gabriel Benitez.
David Onama overcame an apparent eye punch to knockout Gabriel Benitez to cap off the UFC Vegas 48 prelims. The finish occurred at 4:24 of the first round after Benitez got the better of Onama on the feet before a left hook changed the fight for good.
An 11-punch combination, which reminisced shades of Phil Baroni vs. Dave Menne 20 years ago, gave Onama the win. It was Onama’s second UFC appearance, as his first saw him on the wrong end of a unanimous decision against Mason Jones in Oct. 2021.
