Tomorrow X Together admits feeling pressurised by BTS: Don’t think there is a way to avoid it; that is why we try harder – Times of India

Tomorrow X Together (TXT) are the first boy band to debut under Big Hit Music since the K-Pop sensations, BTS. Dubbed as the ‘It boys’ or leaders of the fourth generation of K-Pop groups, Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai know they have a mammoth task ahead of them, on their road to global stardom.

Speaking at the virtual global media showcase of their album, ‘The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE’, the TXT band members revealed that the high benchmark set by BTS does put a lot of pressure on them. Yeonjun spoke candidly and said that while they celebrate the success of their fellow labelmates, it does often pressurise them to up game and their music.

“Hearing news about BTS makes us really happy and it motivates us positively. It is really great and energising to have such great artists close to us,” Yeonjun said.

He went on to add, “Of course, we do feel the pressure sometimes, but I don’ think there is a way to avoid it. We set strict standards on ourselves to overcome that pressure and I believe that with our hard work, we can give you all some good music and performances. Our music and performances are the only things we can use to prove ourselves and that is why we put in more effort and try harder.”

During the launch of ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze’ SOOBIN revealed that BTS band leader RM played the perfect mentor and played a major role in the making of their title track. SOOBIN said, “Our producer told us that he had been working on the lyrics and he had been stuck for three weeks because he couldn’t bring out the lyrics he liked. He then asked RM, ‘Can you write the lyrics to this song, if you like it?'”

To the band’s amazement, RM “gladly agreed to help us” he said while going on to add, “For the title track, we had another possible track other than 0X1=LOVESONG. Everyone had mixed opinions on which song we should go with. RM pitched his opinion that 0X1=LOVESONG is better so we decided to go with that.”

When asked about appealing to fans of all ages, despite telling stories about the emotional rollercoasters teens often go through, Taehyun said, “I heard many times that people head our songs and recognised it as a Tomorrow X Together tracks. I think this shows that our group style is becoming more distinct with every genre we choose. So I think our music which contains our stories and our unique styles, is our strength.”

“A lot of listeners our age relate to our music because they contain our stories. Although it may be perceived by people of different generations, I believe that our songs talk about emotions that everyone feels at least at some point in their lives. That is why our songs get a lot of love because people can relate to the emotions.

With the help of their fandom (known as “Moa” or “Moments of Alwaysness”), TXT has been swooping up all rookie awards and even making their presence felt on the Billboard music charts. The group’s first EP became the highest-charting debut release by any male K-pop group in history.

They are also known to push boundaries in the music space with their signature sounds that dabble with disco, shoegaze, indie rock, and pop.

TXT released their second studio album, ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze’
, on May 31st and are set to drop the music video of their new track LO$ER=LOVER today.
