Introducing the gang with a fresh new poster, Suhana hinted that the promising movie is being readied for release. The poster is packed with nostalgia and features the seven lead actors in stylish attires and retro hairdos.Directed byZoya Akhtar, this OTT movie is inspired from the iconic Archie Comics and will be set in 1960s India. Speaking about the movie, producer Reema Kagti had previously shared, “Zoya and I both grew up reading the Archies so we have a massive connection to the characters. I’m stoked to reboot them in a live-action musical in 1960s India. It’s also Tiger Baby’s first solo project so that makes this all the more special.”
‘The Archies’ also marks the acting debut of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi. Speaking about her ambitions in front of the camera, Boney Kapoor had told ETimes, “Khushi had expressed her desire to become an actor after Janhvi started shooting for Dhadak in 2018. That’s why we sent her to New York Film School in 2019. If Sridevi was around, she would have supported her like she supported Janhvi.”
