‘Tamil Nadu Governor instigates communal hate’: CM Stalin tells President Murmu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote to President Droupadi Murmu recently, calling the state Governor a ‘threat’ to the state who looked for ‘opportunities to topple the State government’. He batted for the official’s removal from office, accusing him of functioning as a political opponent. The remarks came even as Governor RN Ravi met Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on June 8.

“Ravi is stoking communal hatred and he is a threat to Tamil Nadu’s peace,” Stalin said. He accused the governor of ‘defaming’ Tamil culture and indulging in ‘cheap politics’.

“Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi’s various activities show he is not fit to be a Governor. Governor R N Ravi unnecessarily delays in giving a nod to bills that are passed in Tamil Nadu Assembly. Governor is also not giving permission to sanction cases against former AIADMK Ministers who are all charged with corruption irrespective of documents sent by the State Government to Raj Bhavan. Governor acts like an enemy to people elected State Government Policies and ideology,” he added.

The CM claimed that Ravi had shown his political inclinations during the recent ‘dismissal’ of Minister V Senthil Balaji from the Cabinet. “By way of his behaviour and action, the Governor has proved to be partial and ineligible to hold the office of Governor; Ravi is fit to be removed from the high office,” the CM emphasised.

Meanwhile, BJP State president K Annamalai dismissed the letter as a ‘long crime note’ and posing several questions asked Stalin to ‘stop complaining and start delivering.’
