Taapsee Pannu: I want to take a break from sports films, it’s taking a toll on me – Times of India
ETimes recently caught up with Taapsee and asked her about her fitness regime and discipline, what with she having played an athlete on screen four times. Surprisingly, she admitted that she’s had enough of sports films. Taapsee said, “I want to take a break from sports-related films, because it is taking a mental toll on me. I literally have no life beyond training and shooting. I wake up early in the morning, go for two hours of training and go shoot another film for 12 hours. I am forced to sleep as soon as I am back, otherwise I will not get enough sleep to be ready for the next day. I have been living this life for two years and it is taking a toll on me.”
Taapsee felt that all work and no play, no pun intended, was making her mental health dull. She added, “I need to have a life beyond work, hence I feel it is very bad for my mental health to continue doing these kinds of films.” While on the subject of mental health, she was quick to point out that she wasn’t averse to seeking professional help. She said, “I do not mind taking the help of a specialist to make sure that I have a bouncing board, someone who will take the anxiety out of me. This is a very mentally demanding profession, especially when you are shouldering your films and you will be the one who will face the maximum repercussions, good or bad. It is not an ideal position to be in.”
Signing off on a positive note, she added, “Like people go to the doctor for their physical illness, whenever I feel like I need mental aid I go out and take help.”
