T.Y. Hilton out for Colts in Week 9 with a concussion
The Indianapolis Colts will be without wide receiver T.Y. Hilton on Thursday night against the New York Jets due to a concussion he sustained last weekend, head coach Frank Reich told reporters on Monday.
Hilton banged his head hard on the turf after receiving a pass from Carson Wentz in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 34-31 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. He was able to exit the field under his own power, ProFootballTalk noted, although it was a rather scary scene when he was sprawled out on the field for a spell.
It’s an unfortunate turn of events for the four-time Pro-Bowler, who missed the first five games of the season while he rebounded from having neck surgery and then was out in Week 7 with a quad injury.
Despite only appearing in two games so far this season, Hilton has six catches for 96 yards.
Reich also told the press Monday that defensive tackle Tyquan Lewis will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury he sustained during Sunday’s loss. The team is also evaluating linebacker Khari Willis, who is dealing with a calf injury. Willis did not play against the Titans on Sunday.
