Squid Game creator shuts down LeBron

LeBron James has found himself in a hilarious debate after the creator of Squid Game took umbridge with his criticism of the show.

LeBron James has found himself in a war of words with the creator of the hit show Squid Game after he criticised how the series ended.

The nine-episode Netflix series has taken the world by storm and has quickly become the streaming platform’s most-watched show ever.

Speaking at a press conference earlier this month, James expressed his dissatisfaction at how Squid Game wrapped up in the final episode.

The NBA superstar was discussing the show with his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis when he offered his two cents on its controversial conclusion.

“Yeah, I did finish it,” he said.

“I didn’t like the ending, though.

“I know it’s supposed to start off season two, but get on that f***ing flight and see your daughter, bro. Like what are you doing?”

Now the creator of Squid Game has responded to James’ criticism, taking a tongue-in-cheek dig at the basketball legend.

When asked what he made of the feedback, Hwang Dong-hyuk jokingly took a swipe at James’ recent efforts in the filmmaking industry.

“Have you seen Space Jam 2?” he told The Guardian, referencing Space Jam: A New Legacy, the animated movie released earlier this year produced by and starring James as a sequel to the 1996 original featuring Michael Jordan.

Hwang Dong-hyuk said he was grateful James had watched Squid Game in its entirety but added if he wanted a different ending to the show he should make his own version.

“LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that,” the South Korean filmmaker said.

“I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending.

“If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel.

“I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending’.”

The four-time NBA champion didn’t seem to take kindly to Dong-hyuk’s chirpy retort and was seemingly in disbelief when he addressed them on social media.

“This can’t be real right??!! I hope not,” James tweeted on Wednesday.
