Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar recently revealed that he has successfully obtained a stay order from court to halt the production of his supposed biopic, titled ‘Rawalpindi Express.’ Akhtar expressed his concern over the makers’ persistent threats to continue filming despite the termination of the agreement between them. He took to Twitter to share a legal notice, shedding light on the situation.
In an earlier announcement in January, Shoaib Akhtar disassociated himself from the biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express’ and warned of severe legal consequences for the makers. He had issued a stern warning, stating that he would pursue severe legal action if the makers proceed with the film and exploit his name or life events without his consent.

Hailing from Rawalpindi city in Pakistan’s Punjab province, Shoaib Akhtar gained widespread recognition as the ‘Rawalpindi Express,’ a title bestowed upon him by cricket enthusiasts and fans due to his exceptional speed and bowling skills. Throughout his career, he astonished the cricket world with his achievements, including holding the world record for bowling the fastest delivery in an international cricket match. During the 2003 Cricket World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, Akhtar bowled a thunderous 161.3 kmph (100.2 miles per hour) delivery to England opener Nick Knight, leaving spectators in awe.
After retiring from international cricket following his last match for Pakistan during the group stages of the ICC World Cup 2011 against New Zealand, Shoaib Akhtar left an indelible mark on the sport. In Test cricket, he claimed 178 wickets in 46 matches, featuring 12 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls. He also featured in 163 ODIs, picking up 247 wickets with 6/16 as his best bowling figures.
