“She has to fight me” – #1 ranked Manon Fiorot ready to welcome Rose Namajunas into flyweight division

Following her debut loss back in 2018, Manon Fiorot is undefeated in the sport and wants to carry her momentum by matching up against Rose Namajunas for the former strawweight champion’s potential debut at flyweight.

The Frenchwoman has been a sensation inside the octagon, winning each of her five bouts under the UFC banner and scoring two TKO wins in that time. Last time out, the brawler beat the always-tough Katlyn Chookagian by unanimous decision and rightfully earned the #1 spot in the 125lb division.

While discussing what’s next following her surgery, Manon Fiorot highlighted a potential meeting with Rose Namajunas as rumors began surfacing regarding the fan-favorites possible move to flyweight:

“Waiting for Valentina [Shevchenko] is not an option for me because I really want to fight in August and in my mindset, I say to every one [that] I beat Valentina, so if I say that, I can win against anybody in the division… I heard two weeks ago that Rose wants to [move] up in the flyweight division. I’m the number one contender, if she [does] come [to my weight class], she has to fight me.

Fiorot is currently riding a 10-fight win streak in the sport and has emerged as a great contender for Valentina Shevchenko. Although that matchup is a possibility in the future, it seems like the timeline for her return is a little later than ideal and the champion will likely fight somebody else prior to the European’s return.

Last time out, ‘The Bullet’ scored an incredibly close decision victory over Taila Santos and is eager to get back into the cage to prove why many consider her the greatest women’s MMA fighter ever.

Check out what Manon Fiorot had to say about a potential fight against Rose in the video below.
