Shannon Sharpe says he’ll be back on TV ‘in the mornings soon’ following his ‘Undisputed’ exit

Shannon Sharpe has already teased a return to television, less than a week after last appearing on ‘Undisputed’ with his ex-partner, Skip Bayless, as the football analyst eyes his next gig in media.

On Monday, Sharpe – a three-time Super Bowl champion – shared snaps of himself in the streets of Los Angeles on social media, wearing a grey tracksuit, accompanied with dominantly pink Nike sneakers and a black and gold crossbody bag, as he was entering what seems to be a rather chic venue.

‘I’m enjoying my early morning workouts, late breakfast, and break from wearing a suit every morning,’ Sharpe wrote as a caption to his Instagram post. ‘…… but just for a little while. I’ll be back on TV in the morning’s soon.’

The Pro Football Hall of Famer also gave away a few hints that he was meeting up with at least one person to talk about his future and his podcast, ‘Club ShayShay,’ sharing several hashtags online, such as ‘#brunch,’ ‘#talkshow,’ and ‘#podcasting.’

Last Tuesday, Sharpe broke down in tears while saying his goodbyes to Bayless, who said he couldn’t sleep at all the night before his last episode with the ex-NFL tight-end, as the 55-year-old Sharpe put an end to his seven-year run as the show’s co-host.

His departure from the talkshow came months after a couple of tense disagreements between himself and Bayless – most notably on how the NFL should’ve handled the response to Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest back in January.

That night, the NFL couldn’t postpone the Buffalo Bills’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals due to conflict in scheduling, despite an overwhelming majority of players and staff members’ concerns on Hamlin’s health.

‘No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant,’ Bayless tweeted.

Sharpe was noticeably absent from ‘Undisputed’ the next day, and when he returned a day later, he was visibly frustrated by Bayless interrupting him while he was trying to explain his stance on the matter.

Bayless apologized for the tweet but did not delete it.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith offered Sharpe – his ‘brother’ – a spot on his talkshow, ‘First Take’, among a rotation of former-pros-turned-analysts that already includes the likes of Michael Irvin, Keyshawn Johnson, Ryan Clark, Dan Orlovsky, Marcus Spears and Damien Woody.

It’s unclear, however, if Sharpe was meeting with anyone working for ESPN on Monday morning.

Earlier this month, following reports of Sharpe’s buyout agreement with Fox Sports, Smith announced that he and the former NFL tight-end agreed to appear on both ‘Club Shay Shay’ and Smith’s eponymous show in the upcoming months.

Sharpe has yet to really address the reasons behind his exit from ‘Undisputed’, as he chose to only reveal details of his sendoff on air, but he did like a tweet commenting on his breakup with Bayless prior to his last appearance on the talkshow and earlier in June.

‘Their relationship got progressively worse over the last 2 maybe 3 years because skip fought for him to be on that show but I feel like skip couldn’t stand Shannon succeeding without and that’s when skip was taking pot shots on air,’ the tweet read.

The New York Post cited ‘people close to Sharpe’ saying he wanted to have more of a say in the talkshow’s topic selection.

Sharpe, arguably one of the best tight-ends in NFL history, won two Super Bowls with the Broncos and another ring with the Baltimore Ravens.
