See What Vogue Editors Purchased (and Loved) in October

As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all the tempting things to buy, what did we actually end up purchasing? Each month we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that made us buyers rejoice.

I’m committing to wearing more color this fall and winter, starting off strong with this pink statement sweater from Alex Mill. I love to wear it with an easy pair of comfortable denim on the weekends or with a miniskirt and tights to the office.

I am so happy with these Acne Studios boots. The patent toe feels unique but still manages to go with everything! Plus, they are extremely comfortable.

Goodbye, Libra season; it was a fun one! This month, I doubled down on revamping my essentials. First on my list was Prada’s ribbed white-tank top. Coming from someone who wears tank tops most days, I know this designer buy will get its worth of wear. Second on my agenda was a new pair of comfortable black boots, ones in which you can walk home from work or stay out all night. Finally, after searching near and far, Reformation’s block heel and square toe sold me.

Growing up in the ’90s, I fell into the Gap and have never come out of it (true story my first job was at Gap Kids), so when it comes to cool basics, they are still my go-to. Now that the temperatures are dropping, I needed to stock up on some groovy turtlenecks that would be warm enough for fall and then thin enough to layer with when it gets colder, and this turtleneck really does the trick. I got it in the red and the neon green and they both have a subtle heathered color vibe. My favorite part, though, is the extra wide-banded cuffs. Will probably go back and buy a few more colors before the year is over.

I gave my beauty cabinet an update last month with these two cult-favorite products. I have heard nothing, but incredible things about Laneige’s lip mask from colleagues, friends, and family, so when Prime Day came around for a second time this fall, I couldn’t pass up the deal! Needless to say, it’s definitely going to be a staple in my nightly routine from now on. As the weather cools down, though, I’ve also been looking for makeup that ensures hydration and moisture protection. I finally gave Nars’s creamy concealer a shot—and honestly, I’m never looking back! I’m not sure how I’ve gone so long without it, but it’s sure to be a mainstay in my beauty bag for years to come.

Power pants are going to be the stars of my fall and winter uniform this year. So I’m investing in expertly tailored designs that I can wear over and over again—like these cuffed-hem trousers by The Row.

I bought this quilted Totême jacket only a few weeks ago, and already, it’s become a wardrobe hero of mine. I’ve worn it everywhere, from a fancy fall brunch with my friends (layered over a turtleneck and paired with a faux leather skirt) to a lazy Sunday afternoon coffee date (with wide-leg jeans) to even my grocery store run (with leggings and a claw clip—not my most fashionable moment.) Plus, with a classic A-line silhouette and neutral shade—it comes in an oh-so-sensible brown or black—I know I’ll be wearing it for years to come.

I bought this cardigan at the fantastic Khaite sample sale in New York that happened in the last few days of September (I know, technically not an October purchase, but bear with me!), though I’ve been wearing it all month long and it’s quickly become my fall staple. It’s perfectly cozy and warm, easy to dress up and down, and has the relaxed grandpa vibe I’m trying to go with for the season. I joked to some friends the other day that I’m trying to give “grown up” with my looks this fall, and this cardigan is the main reason why. It goes great with my oversized button-ups, and it layers nicely under a large tailored jacket or coat. It’s been perfect to wear around the office or while out in the city running errands on the weekends, and I’ve also taken it on a few work trips this month and loved its styling versatility. Now I’m looking for another cardigan in a lighter neutral to mix it up, and I can’t wait to layer with them in the wintertime.

I’m obsessed with the Beo suit pants from The Frankie Shop. I love the wide, relaxed fit and the pleats. I bought them in brown during the summertime, and my size finally came available in the black, too—so you can best believe I scooped them up for fall.

After searching high and low for a great foundation and setting powder combination to ensure I get the right amount of coverage on my face, I came across these products from IT Cosmetics and Nars. I’ve been using an IT Cosmetics foundation for years, but TikTok turned me onto the Nude Glow option for medium, glowy coverage, and I’m obsessed. Paired with the Nars setting powder, I feel like my skin has looked incredibly natural and radiant—which is exactly what I want going into the late fall and early winter.

On my mission to shop local more frequently, I came across my new favorite scent by Dance Candle, Brooklyn Bonfire. If you’re like me and my roommate we love to leave a candle burning all day while working from home. The brand is handmade and poured in Williamsburg, with an extra long burn time.

Unlike the bikes in Europe, the Citi bikes in New York do not have phone stands on the handlebars, which means I have to hold my iPhone for directions while biking around in the city. Luckily for me, I had on my cute Sandy Liang x Wildflower Case on my phone and my iPhone survived getting thrown out of my hands and onto the concrete streets of the city. Another favorite for me was the Merit Beauty glow serum, which makes my skin look radiant and glowing even on those no-makeup days.

‘Tis the season that never seems to end (in the best way possible, of course)—wedding season! As my best friend is a newly dubbed fiancé with nearly a year to go before her “I Do’s,” I sought out a few little treasures to help prep her for her big day. My personal favorite being a customized miniature vow book by Artifact Uprising. A perfect pair of sentimentality and practicality for the soon-to-be newlyweds.
