Sanjay Mehrotra to Tim Cook: Top American CEOs who will meet with PM Modi in US
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of top American companies during his first state visit to the United States. PM Modi is expected to deliberate with this business leader on various investment proposals for India and may also seek feedback on steps required to make India, a more investment-friendly destination.
The CEOs will comprise both American and Indian-origin leaders, who are heading one of the top companies in the world.
Here are the Indian-origin CEOs set to meet PM Modi
1. Sanjay Mehrotra: CEO of American chipmaker Micron Technology met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on Thursday. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that PM Modi urged Sanjay Mehrotra to manufacture semiconductors in India.
2. Sundar Pichai: Google CEO Sundar Pichai is also scheduled to meet PM Modi at the White House. PM Modi and the Google CEO are expected to expand their conversation on the role of open and connected internet.
3. Satya Nadella: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on 23 June and the two leaders may discuss the future of technology and how it can help in India’s growth.
4. Raj Subramaniam: FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam is also a member of the US export council and PM Modi can discuss some ideas with him to improve the trade relations between India and US.
5. Shantanu Narayen: Indian-origin CEO of software company Adobe is also expected to meet PM Modi. Narayen was awarded with Padma Shri award in 2019 for his contributions to India.
Here are the American CEOs set to meet PM Modi
1. Gary E. Dickerson: The CEO of Applied Materials met PM Modi on Wednesday and had discussions about improving the semiconductor ecosystem of India.
2. Lawrence Culp Jr: PM Modi met the CEO of General Electric (GE) Lawrence Culp Jr and expressed his appreciation for his company’s commitment to long-term manufacturing in India. PM Modi invited him to play a role in the aviation and renewable energy sectors.
3. Tim Cook: PM Modi is also scheduled to meet Apple CEO Tim Cook, who recently launched two Apple stores in India.
4. Julie Sweet: According to the report, Julie Sweet the CEO of IT consultancy firm Accenture will also meet PM Modi at the White House.
5. Ryan McInerney: The CEO of Visa Inc, Ryan McInerney has a wide experience in America’s banking sector and has also headed product and marketing for consumer banking.
6. Michael Miebach: PM Modi will also meet Michael Miebach, the CEO of Mastercard who also holds several crucial positions in the organs of the US government.
7. James Quincey: Coca-Cola CEO also serves as co-chair of The Consumer Goods and may discuss with PM Modi ways to expand cooperation in various areas.
8. Elon Musk: The richest man in the world Elon Musk met PM Modi in New York and the two had discussions about technology. Elon Musk praised PM Modi after the meeting and said “he is a fan of PM Modi”
