Samsung has begun releasing the December 2022 security patch for a handful of its Galaxy devices. The South Korean smartphone maker has now started rolling out the new security update, starting with the Galaxy S20 series in Europe.
According to a report by Sammobile, the software update comes with the firmware version G98xBXXSFGVK7 for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20+ Ultra models. Currently, the update is available for users living in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Here’s what the December 2022 security update fixes
The latest security patch fixes close to 67 security vulnerabilities that are found in Android devices. Of these, 26 vulnerabilities are in Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Moreover, five of the vulnerabilities have been termed as ‘critical’ while 63 have been marked as ‘high” priority. From the list, 12 vulnerabilities come under the ‘moderate’ category in Samsung’s monthly security bulletin.

1. Launch the Setting app on the phone.
2. Scroll down and tap Software update.
3. Now, tap Download and install.
Samsung November 2022 security update
Samsung is also rolling out the November 2022 security across its smartphones and table. The South Korean smartphone maker released the new patch for its Galaxy A40 and Galaxy Tab S7 FE. The security patch has been rolled out in a few European countries.
The latest software bearing the firmware version–A405FNXXU4CVK1 is currently available for users in Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. The update is likely to include common bug fixes and stability improvements alongside the security vulnerabilities.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Tab S7 FE with firmware version– T736BXXS1BVK8 is also receiving the November 2022 security patch update. The latest update is currently available for users residing in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.
