Ricky Kej gets invited to White House; says, ‘I am thrilled about what this means for the India-USA relationship’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

3 times Grammy winner and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Ricky Kej is one of the few to be invited by the US President Joe Biden to attend the arrival ceremony of Narendra Modi at The White House on Thursday.
Speaking to ETimes, Ricky Kejsaid, “I am very excited about this invitation. I am even more thrilled about what this means for the India-USA relationship. It is an honour to be able to witness this crucial state visit between two great countries. My Grammy-winning albumDivine Tides was a collaboration between India and USA, their culture and music. I believe that one of the world’s oldest democracies and the world’s largest one can benefit from each other in many ways.”
Earlier today, Kej took to social media and shared a picture of his invite. “An invitation from the White House, for me 🙂 Super excited.. this Thursday :-)” he wrote.

Ricky who is a passionate environmentalist, earlier said to BT, “All of my music is about nature, the environment, about positive social impact and the cultural heritage of our country. These are things I feel strongly about. Therefore, my music reflects that. A few years ago, I had decided that every piece of music I make will be a reflection of what I believe in, rather than what a producer or director tells me from their own sensibilities. If I have gotten into a field of my passion then I might as well do what I want to do. It’s not about trying to make money or trying to remain mainstream. Even if I try to make a pop song or love song or an item song – it will invariably have an element of the environment in it!”
