Today, everyone is recalling the late singer. Punjabi writer-director-actor Rana Ranbir is also remembering the late artists and in his memories, he shared a long note that states all the interesting facts about Bhupinder Singh.
He wrote, “ਗ਼ਜ਼ਲ ਗਾਇਕ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਤੇ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਠਵਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਕ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਨਾਮਨਾ ਖੱਟਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗਾਇਕ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਫਾਨੀ ਜਹਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਆਖ ਗਏ
ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 6 ਫਰਵਰੀ 1940 ਨੂੰ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਲਾ ਦਾ ਆਗਾਜ਼ ਗਟਾਰ ਵਾਦਕ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ, 1962 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਜਨਾਬ ਸਤੀਸ਼ ਭਾਟੀਆ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਮਦਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਨੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ। ਤੇ ਮਦਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਜੀ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਬਈ ਲੈ ਗਏ, 1980 ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਗਾਲੀ ਗਾਇਕਾ ਮਿਤਾਲੀ ਮੁਖਰਜੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਾਥਣ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਮਿਤਾਲੀ ਤੇ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਗਜ਼ਲ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਐਲਬਮ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਗ਼ਜ਼ਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਕੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਾਏ ਗੀਤ, ਕਿਸੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਆਜ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਕਹਾਂ ਹੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਿ ਯੇ ਦਿਲ ਬੇਕਰਾਰ ਆਜ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਕਭੀ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੋ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਜਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਤਾ
ਕਹੀਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਂ ਤੋ ਕਹੀਂ ਆਸਮਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਤਾ, ਕਰੋਗੇ ਯਾਦ ਤੋ ਹਰ ਬਾਤ ਯਾਦ ਆਏਗੀ, ਗੁਜ਼ਰਤੇ ਵਕਤ ਕੀ ਹਰ ਮੌਜ ਠਹਿਰ ਜਾਏਗੀ, ਸਮੇਤ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੀਤ ਲੋਕ-ਮਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਗਾਓ ਰਿਹਾ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ। ਇਸਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਟਾਲਵੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਰਚਨਾ ,,,,, ਲੂਣਾ”””” ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕਰਵਾਈ, ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕਰਵਾਈ, ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖਲਾਅ ਹੈ, ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਬਾਂਸਲ ਮਾਨਸਾ”
(Ghazal singer Bhupinder Singh passed away, Singer Bhupinder Singh, who gained fame as a playback singer with his unique voice and style in Hindi films, said goodbye to this mortal world today. Bhupinder Singh was born on 6 February 1940 in Amritsar. He started his career as a guitar player. In 1962 Bhupinder Singh was heard by musician Madan Mohan in Delhi at the house of famous Punjabi musician Mr. Satish Bhatia Sahib. And Madan Mohan ji took Bhupinder to Bombay. In 1980, Bengali singer Mithali Mukherjee became his life partner. Mithali and Bhupinder recorded many ghazal albums which are enshrined in the hearts of ghazal lovers. Songs were sung by Bhupinder Singh in Hindi movies. Someone is waiting for you even today Kahan ho tum ki ye dil bekrar aaj bhi hai hai. Bhupinder Singh breathed his last at the age of 82. He was suspected of colon cancer and COVID-19-related complications.
