Poorna Jagannathan says Ayan Mukerji was still writing the boat scene of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ while they were shooting on the boat, calls it ‘typically Bollywood’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Poorna Jagannathan hasn’t appeared in many Bollywood movies except for her memorable parts in ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani‘. But she’s a global name with a long body of work and well-known projects like ‘Never Have I Ever’. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ directed by Ayan Mukerji has just completed a decade and in a recent interview, Poorna spoke about the hilarious process on the film.
She said that she was shooting a scene with Ranbir in France, on a boat and there was limited time on the boat, but Ayan was writing the script on the boat! The film was in Hindi and Poorna needed time with her Hindi because her mother tongue is Tamil. So, it was just so funny and scary at the same time while Ayan was still busy writing the scene on the boat. ‘It was so typically Bollywood,” laughed Poorna.
Poorna further revealed that while they were shooting, Ayan was yet to figure the film’s ending. She recalls asking Ayan, “how is this even working” because Ayan had got the money, the financing, the locations are closed, they were shooting and he still hadn’t written the film’s end.
The actress in all honesty revealed that she hasn’t done any movie post ‘YJHD’ because Bollywood hasn’t called her after that. It just said goodbye to her and the phone hasn’t been ringing!
The cast and crew of ‘YJHD’ also had a reunion on its 10th anniversary and those pictures broke the internet!
