PM shares glimpse of new Parliament in video, accompanied by ‘special request’

Two days ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared a sneak peek of the iconic building and said that it will make every Indian proud. The message was accompanied by a “special request” from PM Modi. The prime minister has requested people to share the video of the new Parliament building with their own voiceover. PM Modi also said that he will retweet some of the videos with voice-overs.

In a tweet ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, PM Modi said: “The new Parliament building will make every Indian proud. This video offers a glimpse of this iconic building. I have a special request- share this video with your own voice-over, which conveys your thoughts. I will re-Tweet some of them. Don’t forget to use #MyParliamentMyPride.”

The video offers a spectacular interior and exterior of the new Parliament building which would be inaugurated by PM Modi on Sunday, May 28. Using elements from all across the country, the new Parliament celebrates the multiple customs and history of India. The new Parliament is a perfect blend of the modern and traditional forms of Indian architecture.

Meanwhile, as India gears up for the inauguration of the new Parliament building, there is a storm that has built up against its opening by PM Narendra Modi. The Opposition alleges that the new Parliament building should be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu and not the prime minister. As many as 20 Opposition parties, including Congress, the Trinamool Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), have issued a boycott call.

While 20 political parties are boycotting the inaugural event of the new Parliament, the government has received a confirmed list of 25 political parties, including some which are not a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), that will participate in the inauguration ceremony.
