“Please don’t take re-birth, I will meet you in 90 years,” says Satish Kaushik’s daughter Vanshika in an emotional letter to her father – Times of India

Anupam Kher paid an emotional tribute to his late friend Satish Kaushik on his 67th birth anniversary through a special event. He invited several celebrities from the film industry including Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor, Neena Gupta, and Subhash Ghai, who spoke fondly about Kaushik. The late actor’s wife Shashi and 10-year-old daughter Vanshika were also present at the event. Vanshika read the letter she wrote to her father after his death which left everyone teary-eyed.
Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9 in Gurugram and his last rites took place in Mumbai. When his mortal remains were being taken for cremation, his daughter Vanshika had written a letter for him which was cremated along with the mortal remains. Anupam had asked Vanshika what she wrote in that letter and Vanshika replied that she’ll read it out at the right time. At the event yesterday evening, as Kaushik’s close ones gathered to pay tribute to him, Vanshika read out the letter on stage from a photo of the original letter that was clicked on her phone.

The 10-year old read, “Hello Papa, I know that now you are no more but I want you to know that I will always be there for you. Your friends taught me to be strong but I can’t live without you. I miss you so much. If I knew this was going to happen, I would miss school just to spend time with you. I wish I could have hugged you once. You are still in my heart. Like we see in the movies, I wish there is a miracle and you are alive.”

Everyone’s eyes welled up because of Vanshika’s love filled, innocent letter. She further added, “I don’t know who will save me from mumma when I will not do my homework. I do not feel like going to school anymore. I don’t know what my friends will say. What if they make fun of me? Please come in my dreams every single day. I have done pooja for you and I want you to be in heaven and live a happy life in a big mansion with a Rolls-Royce, Ferrari and a Lamborghini. You will eat great food. We will meet in 90 years again. Please don’t take re-birth, I will meet you in 90 years. Please remember me, I will remember you forever. I had the world’s best dad ever.”

At the event, Anupam asked Vanshika her favourite memory with her father. She said, “When I wouldn’t be in a good mood and he would tell me, Vanshika do you want to go on a lunch date to JW Mariott? And then he would take me there. He would make me laugh with his weird dance movies. Also, when mom would scold me, he would secretly do my math homework.”

Anupam and other friends of Satish have assured Vanshika and his wife Shashi that they’ll always be there for them. Anupam also made Vanshika promise him that she would call him every evening.

The musical, emotional event also was attended by Anil Kapoor with wife Sunita, Subhash Ghai, Rani Mukerji, Neena Gupta and others.
