PhotoVogue becomes Global

I’m beyond happy and enthusiastic about what we together have accomplished as a community and today is the beginning of a new exciting chapter of our journey: PhotoVogue enters its 11th year with a new “home” and as a global project that engages the entire network of Condé Nast worldwide.

Our mission to champion talent, reach into historically excluded communities, improve visual literacy and shape a more just, ethical and inclusive visual world, will translate into more opportunities for the artists – to have their work published or commissioned by our brands across all 32 markets and commercial partners – and more worldwide events, talks, exhibitions, portfolio reviews to further the conversation around the promotion of creativity and diversity in image making.

We want our community to grow and include artists expressing themselves in all kinds of media. That’s why in the near future PhotoVogue will be open to submissions of videos, digital art and illustrations.

Another new addition will be the possibility to submit not only single images but entire projects, that could be made of photographs or multimedia.

To make our scouting objectives more effective PhotoVogue will promote Open Calls by theme or for specific regions of the world that will be evaluated by Condé Nast staff worldwide and visual experts from the broader international visual community, with different backgrounds and vision so as to try to provide the most inclusive and multifaceted perspective.

Our new platform is searchable by artist and location, as well as by genres: the new PhotoVogue allows an extensive list of genres keywords that the artists can associate themselves or their work with, and soon we’ll introduce keywords such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, feminism, disability, that will ensure that the themes we uphold get the deserved attention. As soon as our family expands with videomakers, digital artists and illustrators the platform will also be searchable by medium.

There are always the best of and pics of the day sections related to the art submitted, while new arrivals are labelled SPOTLIGHT (in the PHOTOGRAPHERS PAGE) that highlights the most talented artists identified by the editors, FEATURED that celebrates the artists’ accomplishments within the Conde Nast network and EDITORIAL with interviews, photostories and news related to visual art.

I can’t wait to start this new journey with you, thanks for being part of our community, and make sure to check the platform as we will be back soon with more news and updates!
