Pasoori singer Shae Gill breaks silence on remaking of her song in Satyaprem Ki Katha: Instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

The remake of Pakistani singers Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s popular song Pasoori in Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha has irked a lot of people on social media. Netizens have been slamming the new Pasoori Nu song for ruining the essence of the original song. Amid massive backlash, Shae Gill has reacted to the uproar and the kind of support she has been receiving from the fans.
Shae took to Instagram on Wednesday and revealed that she does not own the song or have its rights to sell it. She found out about the remake when fans started talking about it. She then requested her fans to not send hate and negativity to the new song. She suggested if they don’t like, don’t listen to it instead of insulting and publicly humiliating the makers of the remake song.
“I have been getting a lot of questions regarding whether this was my decision. Guys, I don’t own the song, I don’t have the rights, so I didn’t sell it. I actually found out through you guys about the remake of the song,” she said. She continued, “I also want to talk about the hate that people have been sending towards the new song. I understand that you all love the original Pasoori so much, I am so grateful for the love, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am. But also at the same time, I don’t want you to be sending hate to someone else. Just look at it as a rendition rather than a remake. May be that will help. And if it’s something that you don’t like at all, I would say don’t listen to it. Instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it because not liking something and talking about it in your home is still fine but if you are publicly humiliating and insulting someone then it’s not very nice, is it?”
The makers of Satyaprem Ki Katha recently dropped released the new song Pasoori Nu which shows Kartik and Kiara in matching outfits. The recreated version is sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music is by Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi. The lyrics of the song are given by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi.
