Neville Southall reunites with goalkeeper Jamie who appeared in viral clip with Michael Owen

Neville Southall has reunited with the goalkeeper who appeared on Michael Owen’s Soccer Skills show in 1999 and helped produce the iconic ‘Well done, he’s only 13’ moment.

Goalkeeper Jamie Hutchinson – who had just entered his teenage years at the time – went in goal and tried to save some shots from professional striker Owen during the show.

Owen rifled multiple efforts past Hutchinson before Southall made the iconic remark and now, 23 years later, the duo have reunited and shared the moment on social media.

On Thursday, Southall took to social media to share news of meeting Hutchinson again, who looks unrecognisable two decades on from the hilarious moment.

He wrote: Look who I bumped into today. ‘Well done, he’s 13’ It’s Jamie from the Michael Owen Soccer Skills video’.

The duo posed for a photo with Hutchinson what appeared to be an orange and black goalkeeper kit – similarly to what he wore back in 1999.

In the original clip, the goalkeeper took on Owen – who played for Liverpool at the time – and was guided by advice from former shotstopper Southall.

However, Owen rifles multiple efforts past the helpless teenager and celebrates gleefully which leads Southall to make the iconic remark: ‘Well done, he’s only 13’. 

The Liverpool forward made no recognition of the comment and simply replied, ‘game, set and match Owen’.

The clip went viral and garnered millions of views as many saw the funny side to Southall’s comments.
