‘Need to bat more maturely’: Ex-Pakistan batter feels THIS Indian star player has become ‘little predictable’

Ahead of the marquee clash between India and Pakistan, former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt in a conversation with fans on his YouTube channel was asked if Rishabh Pant could prove to be a big factor, he said that the Indian wicket-keeper batter is very moody and has become a little predictable.

Rishabh Pant, who was appointed as Delhi Capitals’ (DC) skipper for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Shreyas Iyer’s absence in the first half, retained the captaincy and scored over 400 runs in the season with the bat even though it wasn’t his most fluent seasons.

“He is very moody. Out of nowhere, he steps down and tries to hit out. And, he does this so frequently that other teams have started anticipating his moves. I think Rishabh Pant has become a little predictable,” Butt said.

“He will need to bat with a more mature mindset. He is so talented and has such a high range of strokes. But teams are aware that he will charge down the track either first ball or after 2-3 deliveries. So he needs to work on that,” the former opener added. 

Despite the loss in his touch in the last few months, the 24-year old has become India’s preferred option across all three formats and has seen a surge in his form especially in Test cricket since the Australian tour and would be looking to do the same in the T20 World Cup as well.
