NBA FREE AGENCY DAY 4 RECAP: Anthony Edwards secures a MAX extension in Minnesota

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards agreed to a max extension on Monday for five years, $207million, with a chance of the deal reaching $260million.

Edwards’ new contract will begin in the 2024-25 season. He becomes the fourth player to get the maximum rookie-scale extension so far this summer, joining Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton, Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball and Memphis’ Desmond Bane.

His deal will reach the supermax level if he makes an All-NBA team.

Edwards was an All-Star for the first time this past season, and he has gotten better in each of his first three years with the Timberwolves.

Malik Beasley to become a Milwaukee Buck

The Milwaukee Bucks and Malik Beasley have agreed to a one-year $2.7 million deal.

Beasley’s role diminished over time after the Lakers reworked their roster after the trade deadline and by the end of the first round he had fallen out of the rotation completely. 

The 26-year-old averaged 12.7 points and was among the leaders in in catch-and-shoot 3-point attempts despite playing less than 26 minutes per game, according to NBA.com. He also shot 35.7 percent from 3-point range.

Mason Plumlee stays with the Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers and Mason Plumlee have agreed to a one-year $5 million contract extension.

Plumlee reportedly had more lucrative offers from elsewhere but choose to remain in LA. 

Last year the 33-year-old center averaged 10.8 points and 8.9 rebounds in a season that saw him traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Clippers at the trade deadline.

Torrey Craig headed to Chicago

Torrey Craig has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Bulls. 

The 32-year-old was one of the few solid depth pieces that remained with the Phoenix Suns after they traded for Kevin Durant.

He averaged 7.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and shot just under 40 percent from beyond the arc last season.

Robin Lopez to reunite with his brother in Milwaukee

Robin Lopez has agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks after spending last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 35-year-old Lopez played sparingly for Cleveland and appeared in only 37 contests last season.

He will be reunited with his brother Brook Lopez, who recently re-signed with Milwaukee.
