Veteran actress Nafisa Ali paid tribute to her husband’s regiment, the 61st Cavalry, by sharing a throwback picture of Delhi’s polo tournament on her Instagram. However, it was Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s presence in the picture that caught everyone’s attention.
In the picture, Nafisa was seen presenting Shah Rukh with the regiment’s polo jacket. He was seen wearing a black outfit. Priyanka was also seen in the frame but she was overshadowed by Nafisa in the frame.

Talking about her memorable moment from the event, Nafisa wrote, “This was when Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra came as chief guests to our polo tournament in Delhi … we presented him with the regiment‘s polo jacket .My husbands Regiment the 61st Cavalry was formed immediately after India’s independence in 1947 following the amalgamation of the princely states with India. All regular and irregular erstwhile state forces’ cavalry units were disbanded to raise a new Horse Cavalry Regiment.”

She also talked about how the 61st Cavalry was formed in 1954 with the merger of the cavalry regiments, Gwalior Lancers, Jodhpur/Kachhawa Horse and Mysore Lancers. She further talked about how the regiment also participated in the battle of Haifa in Israel. She then went on to list the name of awards such as Padma Shri, 11 Arjuna Awards, 9 Asian Games medals, a gold medal in Polo World Cup against Pakistan among others.

Two years ago, Nafisa had revealed in her Instagram post that she was diagnosed with a skin disorder called leucoderma, which makes patches of the skin lose their natural colour.
