Miranda Kerr and Jamie Mizrahi Host an Intimate Dinner to Celebrate Six Artistically Reimagined Louis Vuitton Handbags
According to the history books, American architect John Lautner is the father of the Googie style; an architectural aesthetic characterized by futuristic elements. Upswept roofs and curvaceous shapes swept throughout Southern California during the 1900s and eventually became the architectural style dubbed Googie. With its excess of beauty and forward-thinking design, it’s no wonder John Lautner’s Harpel House served as the ideal backdrop for a Louis Vuitton dinner celebrating six reimagined versions of their iconic Capucines handbag.
Hosted by Miranda Kerr and Jamie Mizrahi, this week’s intimate soiree celebrated the third chapter of limited edition Artycapucines collection, and a glamorous crowd was there to experience the iterations with their own eyes.
Showcased in a shrine-like display, designs by artists Gregor Hildebrandt, Donna Huanca, Huang Yuxing, Vik Muniz, Paola Pivi, and Zeng Fanzhi commanded guests to revel in their glory. Jasmine Tookes enjoyed Zeng Fanzhi’s colorful iteration, observing both the inside and outside of the bag carefully. Meanwhile, Kate Hudson fully embraced the rainbow version by Huang Yuxing with a wide smile.
After guests chatted further about their favorite bag over cocktails, an outdoor dinner adorned by pink bouquets awaited. The setup boasted views of the home itself, its illuminated pool, and the City of Angels. As the display remained the hotspot for photo-ops, the key question of the evening became: which are the night’s bigger stars? The bags or the guests?
