Miles Sanders signs with Carolina Panthers, as ‘four-year, $25MILLION deal’ tempts running back away from Philadelphia Eagles
After a career year in Philadelphia last season, Miles Sanders has left the Eagles to join the Panthers in free agency, the team confirmed Wednesday.
A four-year player in Philly, Sanders posted 1,269 yards last regular season before reaching the Super Bowl with the Eagles.
He finished with just 16 rushing yards in that game.
Now, Sanders is heading to the NFC South on what is a four-year, $25million deal according to ESPN’s David Newton.
Sanders thanked Eagles fans on Twitter.
‘To the city of Philadelphia Thank You from the bottom of my heart,’ he wrote.
Soon after, he introduced himself to the Carolina fans, writing ‘What’s good Carolina !!!!!’

Sanders’ departure comes after the team re-signed running back Boston Scott and as they added former Seahawks back Rashaad Penny.
The Eagles will have confidence in their run game after center Jason Kelce returned to the team on a one-year deal.
Meanwhile, Sanders will be part of a new look offense in Carolina after the team traded for the No. 1 pick, with that selection (or No. 2 if they trade down) expected to be used on a rookie quarterback.
Wide receiver D.J. Moore was also traded away as part of that deal, while tight end Hayden Hurst joined Sanders on a three-year, $21.75million deal Wednesday.
