mediatek: Infinix to launch first Mediatek Helio G99 powered smartphone – Times of India

Last month, Mediatek announced a couple of new smartphone chipsets, including the Helio G99. Now, the Hong-Kong based smartphone manufacturer Infinix has announced that it will be launching the first Helio G99 smartphone. The company did not provide much information about the smartphone, but it will be a member of the Note 12 series.
The Helio G99 chipset was announced two weeks ago alongside the Dimensity 930 and Dimensity 1050 chipset. The Helio G99 chipset is fabricated on TSMC’s 6nm node process. It is an octa-core chipset consisting of 2x Cortex A-76 performance cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and another cluster of 6x Cortex A-55 cores running at a frequency of 2GHz. The CPU is paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU to handle graphics-intensive tasks.
Helio G99 brings support for up to 120Hz display and 108MP camera
The chipset supports up to 120Hz displays having a maximum resolution of 2520×1080 pixels, i.e., FHD+. Further, it comes with support for LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The Helio G99 can support up to 108MP cameras and a dual 16MP configuration on the front. However, there is no support for 5G connectivity, so the upcoming Helio G99 powered Infinix 12 series model would be a 4G smartphone.
