Manchester United fans SLAM Erik ten Hag’s side after ‘lifeless’ performance in their 2-0 loss to Newcastle, as some question whether they will still make the top four after a ‘shameful display’
Manchester United fans have not back in their criticism after a damaging 2-0 loss to Newcastle on Sunday.
The Magpies scored twice in the second half through Joe Willock and Callum Wilson, but dominated the entire game as United recorded just one shot on target.
It was an especially damaging result for the Red Devils, as Newcastle have now leapfrogged them into third place.
Tottenham can push United down to fifth with a win over Everton on Monday, although they will have played an extra game.
One fan labelled Ten Hag’s ‘lifeless’ at St James’ Park, and questioned whether United would even make the top four now.
There were also rants at individual players, as someone pointed out that Wout Weghorst had touched the ball just 10 times in the game, while Erling Haaland managed eight shots on targets in Man City’s recent drubbing of RB Leipzig.
