Mahaakshay Chakraborty reveals dad Mithun Chakraborty broke down after his debut film, ‘Jimmy’ flopped at box office | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Mahaakshay Chakraborty, who made his big Bollywood debut with ‘Jimmy‘ in 2008, recently revealed his family went through a tough time emotionally after the film tanked at the box office.
In an interview with a news portal, the actor revealed that after the film flopped he was devastated. He even recalled a review that stated that he wasn’t even fit to be a junior artist.

When asked how his parents reacted to the debacle of the film, Mimoh said that his parents broke down along with him.

The actor added that even though he is talking about it now, it was very hurtful back then.
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Mahaakshay shared his thoughts on nepotism in Bollywood. He said, “I am the living proof and example that nepotism doesn’t exist. If it worked, I would have been doing every fourth or fifth film out there. But no, that’s not the case. I am still struggling like anybody else’s and I’m very proud to say that. When I didn’t get work it was because I didn’t get selected in the auditions. There’s nothing wrong with that. As an actor, you have to face the fact that you will get rejected and you should not take it personally. You are doing your best, right? I have gone to every audition, whether it is for television, whether it’s for films, whether it’s for web shows, I have done all of them. But as I said, I got these three projects because of those auditions. So I am very proud of the work I have received because of my own merit.”

After Jimmy, Mimoh appeared in films like Haunted 3-D and Enemmy. He recently appeared in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma starrer ‘Jogira Sara Rara’.
