LOCKER ROOM: Hurkacz targets Djokovic in next round and defending champion Rybakina is in action
LOCKER ROOM: Three to watch at Wimbledon as Hubert Hurkacz targets Novak Djokovic in next round and defending champion Elena Rybakina is in action
It was an eventful day three at Wimbledon, with it being one to forget for the Brits.
Arthur Fery came crashing out, losing in straight sets to Daniil Medvedev despite a good performance by the young Brit.
Katie Boulter was only one of the six Brits in action to progress, proving her worth as she navigated a series of distractions to win her match.
Novak Djokovic returned to Centre Court and put on a fine display against Jordan Thompson, beating the Aussie in an entertaining clash.
Here’s three matches that Mailsport have picked out ahead of day four at Wimbledon:

Alize Cornet (Fra) v Elena Rybakina (Kaz, 3)
Cornet is a Grand Slam giant-killing specialist and will look to fell her latest Goliath in the second match on Centre.
Cornet stunned Serena Williams here in 2014, beat world No 1 Iga Swiatek last year and has won her last four meetings with top 10 players at majors.
Defending champion Rybakina has been battling a virus and struggled in the first round.
Jan Choinski (GB) v Hubert Hurkacz (Pol, 17)
Delayed from yesterday, the British-German son of ballerinas will take on one of the outsiders for the men’s title.
Hurkacz has the distinction of being the last player to beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon and the Pole has the power game to trouble Novak Djokovic if they meet, as expected, in the fourth round.
Elise Mertens (Bel, 28) v Elina Svitolina (UKR)
This feels like it shouldn’t be a second-round match, but Svitolina is rebuilding her ranking after giving birth in October.
The Ukrainian faces a woman whose consistency and accuracy will match her own. Expect long rallies and a high-class affair.
