Liv Tyler makes MCU return as Betty Ross after 16 years; joins Anthony Mackie on sets of ‘Captain America: New World Order’ – Pics Inside – Times of India

Hollywood actress Liv Tyler made her official return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 16 years after her last appearance in 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’.
The actress reprises her role as scientist Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. She will appear in 2024’s ‘Captain America: New World Order’.

Dressed in all-black, Liv was all smiles as she filmed a scene at a cemetery with leading man Anthony Mackie, Xosha Roquemore, and Shira Haas.

Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross was the love interest for Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner. Norton was later replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the Avengers saga with just minor mentions of Liv’s character.

The Hulk too was never linked to any other character, except for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

‘New World Order’ stars Anthony as Sam Wilson, who took on the mantle of Captain America in Marvel’s 2021 series ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’. Carl Lumbly, Danny Ramirez, and Tim Blake Nelson fill out the rest of the cast.

The role of General Ross, originally played by the late William Hurt, will see Harrison Ford stepping in to play the part. ‘New World Order’ is rumoured to see Ross become the President of the United States.

Julius Onah is directing the film from a script by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson.
