Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar reignites nepotism debate with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Akshay Kumar – Times of India

On Koffee with Karan season 7, the filmmaker asked Samantha to throw light on the nepotism situation in Hyderabad, where several actors are related to each other. “I think it differs from apple to apple. Nepo kids or non-nepo kids, everyone comes with their own demons and their own demons to face. Akshay Kumar recalled his struggle when KJo asked him if he had to combat nepotism. “I didn’t even know meaning of nepotism. I asked my wife (Twinkle Khanna) then she explained it to me. Then I saw the whole fighting. When I came in the industry, I had no idea, I just wanted to earn money.” He also recalled the time he was teaching martial arts and was making ₹ 5000 per month but when he got an advertisement, he got paid ₹ 21,000 for two hours of work. It was then that he decided to make money and pursue acting.”

Through the episode, the filmmaker also joked that ‘nepotism’ has become his jaani dushman.
