Kate Bock and Kevin Love Are Married—Inside the Bride’s Final Wedding Dress Fitting at Ralph Lauren

Model Kate Bock walked down the aisle wearing a custom lace Ralph Lauren dress with a high-neck, long sleeves, and an open-back to marry Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love at the New York Public Library tonight.

Three days earlier, the Canadian model, who has been a Ralph Lauren face for many years, was at the brand’s flagship on 72nd Street and Madison Avenue for her final wedding dress fitting.

Inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding day look, Kate’s dress took over 1,800 hours to make and was covered in over two million beads that had been hand-placed and embroidered onto the bodice and sleeves as well as the A-line skirt and circular train. “The Ralph Lauren team are true experts, and I had so much fun working with them on creating something that was classic, elegant, and fit in seamlessly with the theme of our wedding,” Kate said. “I took inspiration from Grace Kelly’s lace dress, and we created a modern-day beaded gown that was totally my style.” Kate completed her look with a dramatic veil, also by Ralph Lauren, that measured 1.5 meters in length.

Event planner Marcy Blum was on hand to lend her expertise and provide levity and laughs. “This veil is going to give me a heart attack!” Marcy joked as it was affixed to Kate’s head so everyone could see the full look and the bride could take portraits on the marble stairs. “It’s the world’s longest veil—it goes to the outer boroughs!”

Once the seamstress had made her final adjustments, talk turned to where the dress would be stored until it was time for the ceremony. Marcy was quick to chime in with a quip: “It’s the world’s heaviest dress…it would take a lot of people to rob that dress!” And with that, Kate carefully stepped out of the lace gown and it was secured back inside its hanging bag and whisked away before the bride could worry too much about it–she was out the door and on her way to get her marriage license.
