Anthony Joshua has taken a leaf out of Oleksandr Usyk’s book by coping his brutal training regime.

Last month, the Brit was beaten by the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion by split decision in their rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Now as the 32-year-old ponders a Battle of Britain with Tyson Fury, he has taken on the Ukrainian’s incredible swimming challenge.

Prior to the bout with Joshua, Usyk’s manager, Egis Kilmas, claimed the Ukrainian, 35, was swimming ten kilometres in a swimming pool for five hours, a day before one of his press conferences with Joshua – something he has ‘never seen’.

And now Joshua has decided to accept the challenge from Egis Kilmas and hopped in a pool.

Joshua wrote: ‘You know I love a challenge.’

It comes after Joshua, 32, was offered a shot at unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury despite losing his last two fights against the Ukrainian.

Frank Warren and Fury have told Joshua and his team that they have until the end of the day to agree to a Battle of Britain clash on either November 26 or December 3.

AJ has accepted Warren’s offer of a 60-40 split purse and agreed to the proposed location of the Millennium stadium but asked for the world title fight to take place on December 17 instead. However, Fury denied his request.

Warren has said Fury’s terms are ‘more than generous’ and that they are not going to ‘hang around’ for AJ as taking this fight should be a ‘no brainer’ for the boxer who just suffered his second successive loss.

Speaking to iFL TV, Warren said: ‘We need an answer quickly. Tyson has told me again this morning that if they do not come back with the thumbs up then we move on. We are not going to hang around. This is not going to drag on.

‘We just want to get the fight on. Or not. Then everyone knows where they stand. The deadline [for accepting the terms and choosing a date] is today. What is there for them to discuss? Lets be honest.

‘They’ve got the offer. It’s a very good offer. It’s a 60/40 split and I think from Tyson’s perspective it’s a very generous offer as AJ is coming off two losses. So yeah, it’s a very generous offer.
