Odell Beckham looks to be nearing a salivating move to the Dallas Cowboys according to owner Jerry Jones.

Beckham was rumored to be leaning towards missing the rest of the season to focus on signing for a franchise in free agency, but now could be soon wearing the star on his helmet.

Ever the sharer of positive Cowboy news, Jones spilled on Odell’s chances of arriving in Texas for this season’s Super Bowl run.

‘Odell’s going to join us,’ Jones said, via USA TODAY Sports Thursday. ‘There’s a good chance he will, with the complete goal of getting ready for a playoff game or two, and then I’ll look to the future. But most of it being about now.’

Beckham has repeatedly stated he is focused on securing something long-standing as opposed to another rental role like his fleeting stay in Los Angeles.

While concerns have lingered regarding his health – given he has not worked out in front of teams – the former LSU receiver is said to be in top shape.

‘He’s been working out,’ Jones continued, ‘and of course he’s extraordinary.’

It seemed as if Dallas had taken a different direction, one away from Beckham, after adding veteran wideout T.Y. Hilton to its receiver ranks Monday.

While the former Colt may add depth, he has not satisfied Jones’s yearning for further star-power in big D. If Beckham is to arrive, the Cowboys GM foresees greatness in his immediate future.

‘I’m hopeful we can get into some important games and have some Deion Sanders-type results,’ Jones remarked.

‘Could this be possible to have a great player like that get in two or three playoff games and make some significant plays? I think very much so. That’s not an exaggerated thought at all.’

‘The great ones, the extraordinary ones, have an ability to make a play or two in game that can be the difference in a world championship or not,’ Jones said.

‘It’s kind of against the principles of all the practices, the repetition that you do for football. It’s against that. But the reality is, it happens. That’s been my motivation.’

Beckham had visits this month with Buffalo, his former team – the New York Giants – and Dallas.

Even after signing Hilton, Jones reiterated Dallas’ interest. Now, it seems like it may have just paid off.
