Couturier Manish Malhotra designed a unique challa for Parineeti which symbolised her love for her nani. The challa also added motifs symbolising her love for Raghav, designed by Mrinalini Chandra.

Parineeti Chopra’s wedding ensemble had elements that resonated with the bride’s personal journey. Parineeti Chopra who got married to politician Raghav Chadha on September 24, looked surreal in Manish Malhotra’s ensemble featuring a gold lehenga set and stunning veil.

Adding a personal touch to everything she adorned on her wedding day, the one thing that was closest to Parineeti’s heart was the challa (traditional keychain). Parineeti paid tribute to her nani, who used to wear the same challa in her saree with the keys, a symbol of being the lady of the house.

Parineeti Chopra who missed her nani on her big day, took to Instagram and shared this special moment with Manish. She said: I missed my nani on my special day but had a piece of her on me… Thank you M!”

Manish wrote a heartfelt message for Parineeti and the thought behind creating this masterpiece. He said, “Some details make all the difference. I distinctly remember discussing the lehenga design with @parineetichopra, who mentioned adding her Nani’s challa (traditional keychain) to it! She wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to her nani, who used to wear the same challa in her saree with the keys, a symbol of being the lady of the house. For Parineeti, the sound of the challa when her nani walked around the house, was a melody of strength and grace. And that’s when I knew we HAD to add that piece of legacy to her lehenga.”

The motifs on the challa that celebrated Parineet and Raghav’s journey, designed by Mrinalini Chandra.

Celebrating her love for her nani by personalising the challa, Manish complemented the unique design by adding motifs that symbolised Parineeti and Raghav’s love story. The motifs which were also part of her kaliras were designed by Mrinalini Chandra.

“Of course, we added more elements that were significant to both Raghav and Parineeti like London, music, Khanda Sahib and more. It was not just an accessory… but a piece of her that Parineeti would have on her special day,” added Manish.
