Govinda confesses he would have tried his luck with Madhuri Dixit if his wife Sunita Ahuja was not in the picture | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Govinda was one of the biggest superstars in the 90s. There were several reports about his link-up with his co-actors such as Rani Mukerji, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon among many others. But the actor was already married to his wife Sunita Ahuja. They have been happily married for 36 years now. In a new interview, Govinda confessed that if Sunita was not in the picture, he would have tried his luck with Madhuri Dixit.
When Govinda was asked which Bollywood actress he would like to be with, he went on to praise Madhuri saying that she has been beautiful as she was when she entered the industry. He said that such people are beautiful from within that their beauty never ends.
“Sunita agar nahi hoti toh maine pakka dorein Madhuriji dale hote (If Sunita wasn’t in the picture I would have definitely tried my luck with Madhuri),” he added.Back in the 90s, Govinda had revealed that he had fallen in love with Neelam Kothari after working together in a number of movies. He would even tell his wife Sunita to change herself and become like Neelam and learn from her.
During his fight with Sunita, Govinda had lost his cool and called off their engagement. “And had Sunita not called me after five days and coaxed me into it again, I would probably have married Neelam,” Govinda was quoted as saying in his old interview.
Govinda tied the knot with Sunita in 1987. He was 24-years-old while Sunita was only 18. The couple are parents to their son Yashvardan Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja.
