Google partners with ONDC, announces accelerator program for online retailers – Times of India
“We are excited to launch an accelerator program for ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) to help businesses with the tools and resources they need to build and scale their digital commerce operations,” said the company in a blog post.
Google will offer its core infrastructure APIs to participants and provide developers on the network with retail search and generative AI to improve the experiences of buyers and sellers. Additionally, startups on ONDC can receive $25,000 in cloud credits from Google.
The network conducted a soft launch in five cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Shillong, Bhopal, and Coimbatore, in April 2022. The ONDC program’s objective is to connect 30 million sellers and 10 million merchants online, and expand its reach to at least 100 cities and towns by August.

Soon, Google will launch a Trusted Tester program for developers to access its healthcare AI model APIs, which can recognize medicines in handwritten prescriptions.
Google Maps API will improve the serviceability of orders through address descriptors in 25 Indian cities. This experimental feature, only available in India, allows for easier identification and communication of addresses using landmarks and area names.
