Google Keep no longer runs on these Wear OS devices – Times of India

Google last year rolled out the Material You redesign and tile for its note keeping app Keep on Wear OS. The search engine giant has now reportedly dropped the support for previous Wear OS 2 devices. According to a report in 9to5Google, the Google Keep app does not show up in Google Play Store search on devices running on Wear OS 2.
As per the report, currently, searching for Google Keep in the Play Store using a Wear OS 2 watch does not show the app. Visiting from the web/mobile listing and looking at the “Compatibility for your active devices” list says the application “Does not work on your device.”
Supported Wear OS versions
Google’s own Pixel Watch, with version 5.22.452.00.97, shows “Android 11 and up” as the listed requirement. The update will not affect the devices that have the app already installed. But yes, updates may not be certain. Users also need to keep the unavailability in mind while changing on switching devices.
Google launched Material You design with the Android 12 update in 2021. The Material You Design is Google’s unified design language that takes colours from the part of your phone that you have the most control over and is likely very individual to you: The wallpaper. Material You, as the name suggests, is all about personalisation, and it first launched on Google Pixel phones with Android 12.
Material You comes to apps
Over the last many months, Android developers have been embracing the Material You design across apps. “In addition to making it easy to adapt to different screen sizes and types, Material You uses motion to help understand space, convey brand, and elicit trust. The UI reacts to screen changes, context changes, and input in a way that is consistent but also human. Little surprises and playful quirkiness augment basic storytelling—making technology approachable and comfortable,” said Google in a blog post explaining the UI.
