USA Hockey unveiled the first 22 players that will make up its roster at the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championship in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia.
The team includes plenty of representation from Canadian NHL clubs with Montreal Canadiens prospects Luke Tuch, Lane Hutson and forward Sean Farrell leading the way.
Farrell played in six games with Montreal after signing his entry-level contract on March 26 and scored one goal.
Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland, Calgary Flames forward Matt Coronato and Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg all will suit up for the USA.

Garland scored 14 goals and totalled 46 points for the Canucks in 2022-23, while Samberg scored twice and played in 63 regular season and all five playoff games for the Jets.
Like Farrell, Coronato signed his entry-level deal on March 26, but he didn’t make his NHL debut until Calgary’s final game of the regular season.
The team will also feature Buffalo Sabres forward Alex Tuch, who is coming off a 36-goal and 79-point season.
Pittsburgh Penguins veterans Nick Bonino, 35, and Casey DeSmith, 31, are the two oldest players on the roster while Hutson, 19, is the youngest.
Chris Clark, the director of player personnel for the Columbus Blue Jackets, is the general manager of the 2023 U.S. Men’s National Team.
“The depth of our player pool is reflected with our team and we’re excited about the group we have to represent our country at the world championship,” he said in the announcement. “We’ve got a great mix of experience and youth and most of our players have represented the U.S. before and know what it takes to be successful at a world championship.”
Team USA is playing an exhibition game against Germany on May 9, before kicking off preliminery play against Finalnd on May 12.
