ETtech Deals Digest: Indian startups raised $617 million this week

Startups garnered around $617 million in funding from 26 rounds this week. The figure was a significant improvement over the previous week, according to data provided by market intelligence firm Tracxn.

Between May 13 and 19, 2023, funding activity saw a 2.6% decline from the same period last year, when startups had mopped up $634 million across 54 rounds.

Amazon invests Rs 110 crore in men’s innerwear brand XYXX: Men’s innerwear and lifestyle brand XYXX has raised Rs 110 crore ($13.5 million) in fresh funding led by Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund. Existing institutional investors, including Sauce.vc, Anicut Capital, DSG Consumer Partners and Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund, also participated in the round.Puma India head Abhishek Ganguly’s new startup raises $52 million: Abhishek Ganguly, outgoing India and Southeast Asia managing director of Puma, has raised Rs 430 crore, or around $52 million, for his new venture, Agilitas Sports, in its first round of funding.

Of the Rs 430 crore, Convergent Finance LLP, led by former Fairfax India executive Harsha Raghavan, has invested about Rs 400 crore. The rest has come from individual investors. Ganguly did not disclose the names of the individual investors.

Gaming startup Rooter raises $16 million: Gaming and esports content platform Rooter has raised $16 million in a growth round of funding led by existing investor Lightbox. The fundraise was 80% equity-based and 20% debt-based, founder and CEO Piyush Kumar told ETtech.

Course5 Intelligence raises $28 million: Data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions company Course5 Intelligence has raised $28 million from 360 ONE Asset Management, its chief executive officer, Ashwin Mittal, told ET on Wednesday. The Mumbai-based company has also set a window of 18-24 months to execute its planned Rs 600-crore initial public offering (IPO), said Mittal.

Logistics-tech startup Agraga raises $8.5 million: Agraga, a startup that integrates asset holders to simplify cross-border logistics, said it has raised Rs 70 crore (about $8.5 million) in a Series A round led by IvyCap Ventures.

SaaS startup RevenueHero raises $5.1 million: RevenueHero, a SaaS startup, on Tuesday said it has raised $5.1 million in a round led by existing investor Stellaris Venture Partners, with participation by Together Fund.
