England saw their final preparations for next month’s home Euro tournament get off to the perfect start as they ran out resounding 3-0 winners at home to Belgium.
Sarina Wiegman on Wednesday named her final 23 for July’s tournament, with notable omission Steph Houghton grabbing most of the headlines but Thursday gave the Lionesses an opportunity to grab the narrative.
Second half goals from Chloe Kelly, Rachel Daly and an own goal from Nicky Evrard ensured they did just that, convincingly beating a Belgium side that offered little going forward.
The Lionesses got their final preparations off to a resounding start with a win at Molineux
The Lionesses toiled in the first half, with a number of chances going begging as they looked to impress after the previous weeks’ training camp.
Wiegman’s side continued to impress after the break, however; and almost as soon as the first goal was scored, another followed.
