Does Alex Verdugo have a wife? Learn about his relationship status with long-time partner Yamille Alcala

Alex Verdugo is not yet married. However, he has been with his current partner Yamille Alcala for a very long time. The pair have lived together for a while, too. They also have a son, whom they welcomed to the world in August of 2021.

Since the pair are not married, many fans assumed he was single. When he went on paternity leave from the Boston Red Sox late in the 2021 season, this was the first time anyone had realized he had a partner.

It’s unclear how long the couple have been together, but since they live together and have a child together, it’s safe to assume it’s a long-term relationship. At the very least, the two were together long enough for Alcala to become pregnant and give birth in August of 2021.

Alex Verdugo is helping Mexico in WBC

While he might not be the most successful player on the Mexican team for the World Baseball Classic (that would be the red-hot Randy Arozarena right now), Alex Verdugo has been excellent this WBC.

He has played a huge role in bringing his home country to within one game of a matchup with the United States in the final. All that’s standing in their way is the Japanese team.

Verdugo and the Mexican team blasted the United States in Pool Play 11-5 and shut them out until the seventh inning. That remains the United States’ only loss this entire tournament. As a result of the win, Mexico earned the tiebreaker for Pool C.
