‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’ sees HUGE advance bookings after ‘KGF Chapter 2’; becomes first Hollywood film to open bookings month prior – Times of India

This marked the first time in Indian box office history that a Hollywood film opened advance bookings a month prior to its release. The tickets for the Marvel superhero blockbuster went on sale over the weekend in select theatre chains due to unprecedented demand in India.

According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, the Hollywood action flick raked in a HUGE advance sale, coming in just behind the Yash and Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘KGF Chapter 2’. While the Bollywood film recorded a huge advance a week before its release, ‘Doctor Strange’ managed to come in a second even though the film is still 4 weeks away from its release.

The report states that ‘Multiverse Of Madness’ sold around 20,000 tickets in just around 12 hours since bookings opened in some major cities, including South sectors which have a huge market for Hollywood films.

Following the success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and the ‘Avengers’ Infinity saga, the hype around Hollywood films is being taken to new levels with every new release. With 4 more weeks to go until the Multiverse is unleashed on the big screen, the Indian box office may just witness new records being set and broken in the coming months.

Trade experts have also predicted a record-breaking advance ticket sale for the upcoming ‘Avatar 2’ which will release later this year.

It has even been reported that many big Hindi films are also unable to compete with this new wave of fan-frenzy surrounding these upcoming international releases.

The advance of ‘Doctor Strange’ will have to slow from here as the release is a few weeks away. As more sectors open closer to the release, collections for the film will only get bigger and better.

Meanwhile, ‘KGF Chapter 2’ continued its fantastic run in the advance sales, second to only ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’. However, the film may just turn out to be the top contender for other Hindi films.

‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’ will see Benedict Cumberbatch return as the Sorcerer Supreme with Elizabeth Olsen as Wana Maximoff, aka the Scarlett Witch. Also starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams, the film is directed by Sam Raimi.

The film has been set up for a wide release in India and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayala
